COURSE OFFERINGS
Students are required to complete three credits of Social Studies in the following recommended sequence:
* World Civilization and Geography or AP Human Geography (9th grade year)
* United States Government and Civics or AP Seminar: United States Government & Civics (10th grade year)
* One full credit of US History Pathways (11th grade year)

US History Pathways
To meet OHS graduation requirements, students must complete one full credit of study in US History. In recognition that there are multiple perspectives on the history of the United States, students can not meet this requirement through a combination of learning opportunities. These include:
* African American Studies (Semester 1 and/or Semester 2; 0.5 to 1.0 credit)
* AP United States History (Semester 1 AND Semester 2; 1.0 credit)
* AP4 ME - APUSH (1.0 credit)
* Early College options at UMaine such as HTY 102/104 (1.0 credit)
* Holocaust and Genocide (Semester 2 only counts for 0.5 credit US History requirement)
* Indigenous Studies (1 Semester, 0.5 credit)
* United States History (Semester 1 and/or Semester 2; 0.5 to 1.0 credit)
* US History Through Sports (1 Semester, 0.5 credit)
