OHS Honors Class Principles
1. An emphasis on depth of inquiry into a topic beyond the textbook or standard grade expectation;
2. An emphasis on analysis rather than memorization, judging options rather than finding right answers, and creativity rather than repetition;
3. Contribution of students’ findings to regular classroom work, as appropriate;
4. Maintenance of independent responsibility to be on time and on task for regular classroom expectations and honors work;
5. An affirming presence in the classroom; and
6. A culminating activity.
